Honestly though, do the masses care about civil war? Unless they actually kill off main characters what is the point? You know they don't wanna do that. They want to see them team up and fight the bad guys. The 3rd Xmen where they killed off all the chars is probably the worst of them.

I think Civil War is going to be reduced to Iron Man vs Captain America. They don't have enough Civil War characters to do the story in full, but the essence can be reduced to those two characters. Although rumor has it that Sony and Marvel are trying to work something out to get Spider-man into the Avengers movies. That still wouldn't be enough of the main characters, but instead of trying to register heroes, they could be trying to register mutants. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are now in MCU, and are possibly helping Ultron, based on the trailer. If that doesn't kick off registration, I don't know what would with the way MCU is currently structured.

they substituted Stark for Pym as his 'father'

um.. if cap's shield is stronger than adamantium, then how did it get broken?

and yeah ironman vs hulk as the lead-in for the WorldWar Hulk arc as the next Avengers movie. (and Planet Hulk as the next Hulk movie, which is the prequel to worldwar Hulk.)

Avengers 3 should be Thanos unless they wanna push it back another phase. Which I doubt.

Hoping so much that this launches the planet hulk arc. /Goosebumps
It is. Planet hulk is set for 2019 if speculation is correct. Look at these.

This is nearly all confirmed, the rest are more speculation with some already confirmed to not be happening.

Also, Thor Ragarok is probably not named that. And inhumans should be based off the Guardians of the Galaxy I think. I'm not a comics guy, I just think I remember hearing that.

Now featuring 100% more James Spader!

Are voice actors supposed to be so recognizable? Seems distracting.

Cap's shield is made of vibranium, not adamantium. Adamantium > Vibranium.

And Planet Hulk isn't happening you noobs. Joss Whedon confirmed it earlier this year. Civil War may although I haven't heard anything on that other than Sony may be willing to rent out Spidey to Marvel. Hell, Quicksilver is already being rented out so it only makes sense, and you need Spidey/X-men for Civil War.

it changes in comics. in some its a combination of vibranium and adamantium. the vibranium helps with vibration and the ability to absorb and redirect energy so it can "bounce".

In other books its a proto-adamantium and stronger then adamantium.

they can never keep it straight. either way it's supposed to be strong enough to absorb a impact by the hulk and thor's hammer.

huh.. in the movies it's vibranium?!
(never saw capt America 1)

in the comics, his shield is stronger than adamantium. in fact, adamantium was created by trying to reverse engineer his shield.

thx!

sucks that they nerfed cap's shield in the movies.

then again, they nerfed adamantium in the movies. (re: Wolverrine2 where his adamantium claws get broken by an electromagnetic sword.)

What do you mean "they"? You can't compare the current Marvel world of Captain America with Fox's X-men... they're completely separate studios making completely separate decisions of how to treat the canon

It's impossible to make a comic book movie "good" if you're going to follow the comics completely.

Too much stuff that is completely retarded.

Sure is quite a bit of leeway there for vulnerability in that armor. If cap's shield is all adamantium, shouldn't it be the one NOT broken?

(I have no idea. I just don't see how the one quote led to the "which is why..." part)

I always thought that the shield of captain America was made of vibranium and not adamantium.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vibranium

EDIT:
It seems that according to the wiki page, it is an alloy of vibranium and adamantium. Although it is the vibranium that gives it it's kinetic energy absorbing properties.

Ultimately, doesn't enough mass and velocity win? I could take a crude 50 ton iron weight, drop it 100' and easily crush a titanium SR-71.

I will say, it's interesting having metalurgy discussion with a middle school student watching Marvel comics.

This came up in the past, you kind of have to de-power everyone a tad from the comics. Also, depending on the specific era, or even writer, the powers very widely.

Nope. The idea is that vibranium can (almost) perfectly absorb and redirect energy. A APFSDS shell from a tank could hit Captain America and be blocked by his shield with absolutely no effect on him.

Though, I guess continuous crushing force would probably do it.

You make weird comparisons. I do not get your joke.
It is about fictional metal. The metals Vibranium and adamantium do not exist.
Titanium is not used.

But as a fan of comics when i was a child, i enjoy the movies and the discussions over the storylines and details.

That and the fact that the movie is a second chance. That is part of what makes these comic movies so good- someone else came up with the "big idea" and its up to the screenwriters to fill in the details and dialogue. What didn't work great the first time can be refined, what works gets kept.

The comic books were the beta build.
