The news report I read on it said that his ex-wife, who was the one he supposedly assaulted, stated that he hadnt done anything to her and that she hadnt been anywhere near him on the day he supposedly assaulted her...

Yeah this whole thing is starting to stink. California has mandatory arrest laws in the event an allegation is made. Wohl being anywhere near this is an immediate red flag.
