FOV seems possibly limited and still a little too bulky but ostensibly as impressive as nvidia's light field microlens array. seems to be similar to the old micromirror chip system from DLP. 1280x768 @ up to 240hz. most likely a year or two away from a mass market product.

They really need to work on the aesthetics. I know that stuff comes later, but....reminds me of the Borg.

$500 for initial beta version. 250K goal netted 600k with 1200 backers. looks like this will be a thing. fov is very narrow compared to occulusRift. avegant seems to be targeting media display rather than virtual reality.

hipster headphone to visor gimmick troubles me, but i love the light field tech.
