Am I suppose to apply the artic silver on the circle on the sunflower heatsink. If I just apply it on circle on the heat sink, not all of the cpu is going to be covered by the artic silver because the circle is smaller than the cpu itself. Is that ok?
Thermal paste should only cover the core assuming you have an amd it's about 1/4 of the size of the actual chip and it's dead center. Make sure you don't cover any of the lil dents in the chip that have L1 or L2 on them for example L1 would short out the chip. If you can remember the size of that circle chances are it's the size and location of the core and that's where you should apply the thermal paste. The best instructions I've found are provided by Arctic silver themselves. Hope this link helps.
you sould apply on all over the metal part of your cpu,
and don't fill in that small hole on the corner.
i don't know what is that but i think it will be hard to clean
it up if we need to.
Apply Arctic Silver to both CPU and heatsink, in a very thin layer. The AVC Sunflower's copper core will be the only part of the heatsink that touches the core (it extrudes a bit), so no need to put Arctic Silver on the aluminum parts.
