Avatars one more time

First off I see all the posts requesting custom Avatars and the general dislike by many members. I frequent about 30 forums and find that I can keep track of who is who way better on forums that allow custom Avatars. I can scroll though topics and ID who made a given post on the fly because their Avatar is only used by them. Here it is much harder because hundreds of people are using each Avatar. IMO this makes this forum way less personal. Being a forum member means being part of a community, a family if you will. Not allowing custom avatars IMO is requiring everyone to wear blinders that make the community weaker.

Personally, I think it makes the forums look cleaner and more professional.

It's a good suggestion, in fact it's such a good suggestion that you're not the first to make it. I do think you have the distinction of being the member with the shortest time on the board to make it though. Welcome to Anandtech:thumbsup:

I'm just saying.
