Sometimes, a song's lyrics describes a non-literal situation almost perfectly. The one example I have on my mind is the relationship of Cloud Strife and the Sephiroth/Jenova chimera and Mariah Carey's song "Always Be My Baby".

Cloud Strife, the protagonist of Final Fantasy VII, was turned into a chimera of himself and Jenova cells(without consent). All beings injected with Jenova cells want to reunite with the host/master body. Their actions are subconsciously influenced by those cells.

"We were as one babe
For a moment in time
And it seemed everlasting
That you would always be mine."

The Jenova cells used to be one with the main body. They were extracted by Shinra scientists like Hojo and Cloud was injected with them.

"Now you want to be free
So I'm letting you fly
Cause I know in my heart babe
Our love will never die
No!"
Cloud appears to have free agency in his mind, but in actuality, all of his actions are subconciously assisting the Sephiroth/Jenova chimera in achieving its end of obtaining meteor. Jenova is letting Cloud "chase" his mission, knowing his actions will only advance its goals.

"You'll always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Boy, don't you know you can't escape me?
Ooh, darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong (no, no, no, no)
No way, you're never gonna shake me
Ooh, darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby"

Indeed, the power of the Jenova cells will always be a part of Cloud's psyche for the near entirety of the story. So yes, they are always a part of him, and indefinitely so. He can't escape their influence and they linger on. They are cells, so they cannot just go away with the passage of time.

"I ain't gonna cry, no
And I won't beg you to stay
If you're determined to leave, boy
I will not stand in your way
But inevitably
You'll be back again
'Cause you know in your heart, babe
Our love will never end, no, no"
The sheer confidence of the Jenova/Sephiroth chimera means it doesn't need to shed a tear. Cloud thinks his actions are of his own free will, but he does not realize everything he does is taking him back to Jenova/Sephiroth.

"You'll always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Boy, don't you know you can't escape me (no)
Ooh, darling 'cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on
Time can't erase a feeling this strong (yeah, no)
No way, you're never gonna shake me
Ooh, darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby"
The chorus repeats, emphasizing the power. Mariah's "coloring of the melody" gives this repeat greater power.

"I know that you'll be back, boy
When your days and your nights get a little bit colder, oh
I know that you'll be right back, baby
Oh, baby, believe me it's only a matter of time, time"
Cloud will mentally crack as his "self' is not his true self but a conglomeration of influences, triggered by the Jenova cells. Mariah's singing of the low note of the second "time" establishes the sheer breadth and power of the Jenova/Sephiroth chimera.

"
You'll always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Boy, don't you know you can't escape me (yeah)
Ooh, darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby
And we'll linger on (and we will linger on and on)
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way, you're never gonna shake me
Ooh, darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby

You'll always be a part of me
I'm part of you indefinitely
Boy, don't you know you can't escape me
Ooh, darling 'cause you'll always be my baby (never, no, no)
And we'll linger on (you and I will always be)
Time can't erase a feeling this strong
No way, you're never gonna shake me (you and I)
Ooh, darling, 'cause you'll always be my baby (you and I)

You and I will always be (do, do, ah)
(Do, do, do, do, do, do, da)
No way, you're never gonna shake me (do, do, da)
No way, you're never gonna shake me (do, do, do, do, do, do, da)

You and I will always be (do, do, da)
(Do, do, do, do, do, do, da)
(Do, do, do, da) no matter what you do"
The song ends with ever more emphatic repeats of the chorus and exhibiting of singing skill, which correlates to Sephiroth's establsihed combat skills. And as Sephiroth receives Meteor from Cloud, indeed Cloud couldn't shake him. (And Aerith figured this out that she would have to bail everyone out.)
