Happened just a few hours ago. It would seem that some dumbasses didn't take heed to the warnings posted about skiing out of bounds. I was just talking to one of the rescuers and he said that there are some people missing, and some confirmed dead.

I'll update with a news link when available.

Doesn't mention deaths, but I'll take the rescuers first hand word for the time being.

Turns out my sisters were less than 100 yards from 99-90 when it gave. :Q They're ok, though.
 
when I heard about it this morning on the news, they said the skiers were way out of the boundaries... combined with the obvious inclement conditions, I think this almost qualfies for a darwin award. 🙁
