I need to tske apart my amp because the imput jack doesnt work. Anything I should not touch? How do I discharge power from it before I go taking it apart?

What kind of amp? make sure the unit is unplugged and that all capacitors have been properly discharged. Google how to do this. Always make sure that whatever try to repair that the power cord is unplugged.
