Availability of 4GB GTX 760 cards?

Because I'd rather buy a 760 and add a second for better than "780" performance in the future, I want to make sure I get one with 4GB.

I know EVGA has one and it seems to be the only one available (Newegg and EVGA.com) but it's the blower-type cooler that I'm not too fond of.

Gigabyte announced one (GV-N760OC-4GD) but I can't find it anywhere.

I found a listing for an over-priced one from Galaxy that isn't even listed on their site (76NQH7DV8NKV - "List price: $469.99" yeah right!).

Did I miss anything?
 
Wow, I guess you're right. I just had a quick look around the net and I couldn't find anything other than the EVGA model.

It was like that with the 770s though. When the GTX 770 4gb was announced, Gigabyte was the first manufacturer to list and sell them..

So I guess EVGA is the first to list and sell the GTX 760 4gb models this time.

Other manufacturers will surely start releasing their versions very soon though, so if you don't like EVGA, I would wait a few more weeks and then there will be more options.

Up here in Canada NCIX.com has the eVGA GTX 760 4GB for $329.99. I just bought 2 of them on layaway. I'll own both in 5 months. My 2 GTX 460 1GB SLI will last until then (I hope).
 
Now that Gigabyte one is in stock at several places along with an MSI 4GB GTX 760 card. Newegg went out of stock of the EVGA one right after I ordered but at the same time they added another EVGA one with the upgraded cooler which is also out of stock now. All of them have better cooling and higher clocks than mine. 🙁 At least I paid less but the price went up almost as soon as I ordered and the Gigabyte is actually cheaper thanks to free shipping. With the giant three-fan cooler and lowest price, it's clearly the best option of the four cards.

That's just it: Added memory capacity at either of those bandwidths doesn't significantly affect performance regardless of the bus width unless there isn't enough for the game in the first place and it needs to start rendering with resources that don't fit in the card's memory alone (over PCIe bus from system memory).

When 2GB becomes a limitation for future software like people say it may be for Battlefield 4 (certain settings, of course) I don't want my dual 760 setup to be inferior to a single 780 in any way.

Why do you say 5 months? I ordered mine too and I am hoping to get one before september since BEta for BF4 should be around then...

Screw that, just get a 780, and then get another 780 at some point. OC'd 780's are beast mode.


I'm going to buy a second at some point before BF4 comes out. I want to be able to crank everything @ 1440p and stay above 60fps.

He's not talking about a barrier to buying it now. He put them on lay-away and expects to have it paid for in 5 months.

Talk about diminishing return on investment. This is far cheaper and even two 660 cards outperforms a GTX Titan. The econmoics of it make even more sense when you consider that a 760 will be even cheaper as well as easier to buy second-hand in the coming years.

you'll have to turn settings down in no time. an OC'd 780 is also faster than 2 660's (and even most OC'd Titans since TDP isn't an issue). You'll be replacing your setup long before I will, so I don't see how you can argue about diminishing returns.

760 replaces both the 660 and the 670, just so you know. By the time I have to replace it there will be a new generation of far better (and cheaper) cards that make a 780 SLI seem wasteful. 🙂

There's a card right now that makes dual 760's seem wasteful, the 780. You do realize what frame latency is right?

I'm obviously not concerned with that.

I'm $285 in right now and I don't plan on spending more than $200 for the second one in the future which will clock in under $500. A single 780 goes way over that entire budget with less performance to boot. If money were no object and I were running the highest-end i7 and Tri-SLI, it'd be a different story. As it is, my motherboard cost $110 (AsRock Z87 Extreme4) and my case is from 2004 (Cooler Master CM Stacker STC-T01). I'm on a budget and I'll be able to afford a second 760 long before the 700-series is obsolete. In the same time frame I would have spent far too much on a 780 SLI setup.

Don't need luck: I already bought it and installed it. Also could have saved another $15 if I knew about the Google Wallet coupon code where you check out on a mobile device and enter "WALLET."

Well, I intend to game on a 1080p 27" IPS panel, but this tells me its still a better deal for 1440p:
