The 5700 is a great receiver (It was retailed for $1000+), it was among the few THX certified receiver at the time (I know about certification, so don't). With that being said, the receiver is set out to do what it's advertised. You can't compare a Denon 2803 or the Onkyo to this receiver, they're in a different league. I am a Denon fan, and even though my 3802 is about 2 years old, but I do have respect for the Kenwood 5700. A lot of clean power, more than most would ever need. If you want to be different, this is definitely not a bad investment (Oh, I use to sell these thingymagics).
