I'm curious as to what people's opinions are on the best AntiVirus software for Vista 64-bit. Prior to my upgrade I had AVG Free on a Windows XP system. It was great, but it slowed down my computer a bit and had issues with multiple profiles on the same computer.
Now I have a 4GB, E6750 PC with 64-bit Vista. I'm looking for a fast, reliable 64-Bit Antivirus software package that will also detect/handle 32 bit viruses.
Also, on a side note how necessary is an AV program for 64-bit VISTA? I've read 32 bit virii cannot really infect a 64-bit system, and there aren't that many 64-bit virii in the wild. Most importantly I don't visit any sites I'm not supposed to, and I dont open unknown email attachments. I usually keep AV running because there's always that chance of getting infected. VISTA's security seem pretty robust, aside from the lack of a built in AV program.
