I'm going to be buying anti-virus and firewall software. I'm going to get the non-free versions so I can have all the features for my DSL connection. I was wondering if it would be good to get a package deal or buy them separately. Which would you recommend and why. I don't have experience with all of these so I was looking for some opinion.

Package Deals---
-Kaspereky Personal Security Suite
-Norton Internet Security 2005
-Trend Micro Internet Security 2005
-Panda Internet Security Platinum

Separate Purchases---
(AV)
-Kaspersky AV Personal
-Norton AV
-Trend Micro AV
-Panda Titanium AV
(Firewall)
-Outpost
-Sygate Personal Firewall Pro
-Kerio Personal Firewall 4
-Norton Firewall 2005
-Trend Firewall

AS a Firewall per-se both products are similar. The new version is Hogging more memory and resources, and not leaving you alone. It starts as a full program and thten reduces it self, after the trial time, into a "Lite" version. Popping windows, suggesting, reminding, prodding, to buy, upgrade, what ever, to the commercial program, are common occurrences.

Depending on the way you use your computer/network, unless there are some specific assets that you know that you would like to use and it is only available in a specific Suite, you do not gain in thing by installing one Suite or another. Just because you are paying, it does not mean that you get more of something that you need.

However as far as my experience goes (I tried almost all of the pay suites), when people insist on a Suite Norton Internet Security is probably the right choice.
