AuzenTech X-Plosion 7.1 ...thoughts? linux?

Hi all, I just got this card today. Its not yet installed.
I'm looking for any feedback from other users with it - positive or negative?
While I understand that its mainly for Windows boxes, I run linux 98% of the time.

Accordingly, I'd be very interested in anyone's linux experience with this card. I am planning to try the X-Mystique drivers (under ALSA 1.10, I think), to see if I can at least get 4.1 sound out under linux. Naturally, given the slightly different CMedia chip in use, I'm not yet sure how successfull my attempts will be.

Any thoughts appreciated.

1) I can say I've never heard of that particular card, but then I've not been shopping for a soundcard. I'm probably going to be using my NF7-S rev2.0 with its onboard audio for the next few years - till I'm done with college and can afford something more substantial than a new heatsink or fan. 🙂

2) The peripherals forum unfortunately doesn't get a whole lot of traffic. If I want a reply on an unpopular subject, I'll use my signature to host a link to the thread. It's still not guaranteed a response, but it will at least provide a clandestine way of giving your thread attention.

aha! Thanks for the link - I hadn't seen that one. Thx.
Read through that forum - lots of good detail on the old X-Mystique, but nearly nothing beyond speculation and opinion on the X-Plosion. The original poster of the thread had some GREAT info on the X-Mystique, but disappeared from the thread in January... maybe he was eaten by a grue?
