I don't see why you would be so interested in this card honestly. The biggest feature that differentiates this from an X-fi by Creative is the "Future" capability of DDL and DTS interactive. You will be connecting to a Promedia ultra set which is all well in good, but has no need for the DDL capabilities. Then you have a pair of headphones there that decode DD, thereby bypassing your sound card's DAC's and op amps(which you pay bigtime for) and uses the likely cheap ones in that little box.

The only other reason I can think of that would make it worth this would be that you just hate Creative's name. After all, the drivers are going to be from creative and be pretty much identical to those of the X-fi....

Don't get me wrong, this card might surpass the X-fi in audio quality...however, I doubt you will notice a difference with what you picked out there. The X-fi already does an excellent job at audio, so the difference should be minimal.

I wanted a good soundcard that had digital out so I could use the Tritton headphones which has a digital connection. From the reviews it seems to be a good headset. As for the Klipsch, they are in my mind the best 5.1 system you can get for PC. I've owned the 2.1s and loved them. With the soundcard being an "immovable object" in terms of what I'm buying, what would you recommend for headset/5.1 speakers? I currrently own no speaker setup but do own iCEMAT Black Siberia which has pretty good sound, but the mic could use some reworking (horrid quality).

Creative's track record with x-fi vista drivers and software is dismal at best which is why I pulled my x-fi fatal1ty out and am running onboard sound. I do like the fact that auzentech is using hard caps all over the board unlike creative and their electrolytic caps. As for speakers the klipsch promedia's rock which is why I keep on buying them. At the moment I'm using turtle beach earforce 5.1 headphones and they sound ok but do not even begin to compare to the klipsch speakers in terms of channel separation and sound quality.

If you haven't gotten the 5.1 headphones, I wouldn't bother with them.
A really high quality set of audiophile quality headphones would provide a soundstage far more 3D and surround than any set of 5.1 surround speakers can provide.
5.1 headphones are a gimmick.

You only have two ears. If the earphones can replicate exactly what was recorded, then it would be just as if you were there. Nothing sounds more realistic and 3d than that.

I wouldn't buy that. I'd hot-trod a low-end X-FI that has the DSP on it, and maybe change a few of the caps while I was messing with it. And 5.1 headphones aren't good, look at a pair of A-900's, HD-555's or in the higher end Ultrasone Proline 750's.
