Aux IN Question

Kind of a general question...

I have onboard sound with a CD IN and AUX IN...

Im wondering what exactly does the AUX IN do? Cause I have a dvd rom connected with the CD IN wire to the CD IN jack on the mobo. Now can I connect another drive to the AUX IN using another CD IN cable? Im guessing no?

Yes. I have been running 2 cdrom's forever. I always hook the second to aux in without problems.

Yup, Aux In is almost always used with a second optical drive. Be sure to UN-MUTE the volume control for it in your mixer panel.
