Autoupdate Thread at intervals

Maybe I'm missing this, but is there anyway to turn on the feature where a thread will check for an updated post and automatically add to the post through AJAX? It's where a new post will automatically show up and the thread extend.

I'm pretty sure I checked to see that this wasn't the case and it doesn't appear to be. I'm almost certain it was a vBulletin feature, although I could be mistaken.
