Dumb question, how is this different than using Windows Update? And what if you don't want to install all the patches Autopatcher has? The website doesn't really tell what it's for/what it does.

- Why Patch? -

On a clean XP install you must reboot several times in order to get all of the updates. The Autopatcher has everything (criticals, recommended, tweaks, extras) and you only have to reboot once when the install is finished.

Click no to all the "reboot now?" boxes tard, you only have to restart once.

PS: I know this because I do it every time I install XP.

Reboot.

Sure, not many non-hotfix patches can take advantage of this install scheme, but it is a start.

Tard? There's need for childish name calling....

The other benefit to the Autopatcher is that you do not need an internet connection, nor do you have to wait for the files to download. The "free" Microsoft Critical update cdrom is 6+ months old for those that use it.

Or you could make a custom XP install disc and just have to reboot once as well.

ANY applications, hotfixes and windows updates ( whatever you want ) automatically installed after the OS is installed... no internet connection needed.

When you launch Autopatcher it allows you to pick and choose what to install.

Why does windows prompt you to reboot X amount of times, when technically you don t have to ?

Also, how do I make the custom windows CD with ALL patches etc ? I have only heard of slipstreaming service packs...
