Hi folks...
Ok, so by default Windows OSes always mount all the drives, including the CDROM... however with today's highspeed CDROMs they take a few seconds to spin up when accessed, thus slowing down the system... for example, the first time I start up My Computer or Windows Explorer, there's always up to 5-6 seconds delay while the CDROM spins up.
So, what I'd like to do is somehow disable the automount on the CDROM, kinda like what BeOS does (and *nix?). Is this do-able in W2K?
Cheers,
Wade
