Automotive Websites

Put most of it in the summary. I'm going to be buying the car this weekend. Under 15k, 4 cylinder(MPG is a major consideration). Auto trans. There are some new 07/08s that can be got for this much, or I'm willing to go as old as an 03.

Right now I've been digging through edmunds for reviews and specs - any other sites to look at for this?

As far as classifieds go, autotrader and cars.com. Am I missing another big site?

Fit Versa Focus Kia Rio5 are the tops in subs and best mileage and can be had under your 15K
Yaris and Aveo bring up the the rear but the Yaris does have the best mileage but the rest is poor next to the competition. The Aveo new is under 10K and good crash scores
Check out Car and Drivers review of the subcompact class

Honda Fit is better for resale/interior room. Roughly 40mpg highway is probably possible with relaxed driving habits and clean filters/good oil.

Thanks! I forgot about C & D.

I think the Aveo is out. The car is actually for my fiancee, coming off a pontiac Vibe that I totalled. She liked it but is looking for something different/smaller. yaris and fit are on the table. Can't seem to find a used fit around, and they are mostly coming in closer to 16k so that's a bit of an issue. She like the looks of the saturn ion, but im seeing some iffy reviews on it. She's also eyeing the hyundai's (elantra/accent) . At this point it's still just too many models for me to keep track of. MPG/Auto/4dr. Just remembered the third requirement.

A new Hyundai is a good buy, their reliability has significantly improved (other than the horrible Tiburon), and their warranties are top-notch. Talk to your local dealer about their service department, see how they treat their customers, because each dealer is a little different. Under the right circumstances, I'd prefer a Hyundai with a great warranty and great service to a Honda with an average warranty and rude service from the dealer.

Yeah, the Fits are very hard to find. They are pretty cool though, so much room and so configurable with all the seat options.

A new Elantra is OK and better mileage than the old one.
An ION is OK too as long as its 2006 or later GM improved them throughout the years much like the Focus, 2003 or later for the Focus.
I think the Yaris was named Edmunds most disappointing car of the year, or one of those auto sites.

imo edmunds has some solid specs...as usual though, check out that site that has call backs, not sure what it was called haha
