Automotive Trivia question!

This one should be fairly easy to answer.

In the mid 70's Chrysler made 2 specailty vehicles that were designed for a certain application. They had several differences from the vehicles they were based on.

Name the 2 vehicles and the differences.

They only made two specialty vehicles in the entire decade?

My guess is that one is a police interceptor, and the other is a tow truck?

No, there are others, but we are talking the mid 70's.

Ok, but a mopar guy would be able to get it quickly.

You mean the Dart Light and Feather Duster? They were built for high fuel economy, had some aluminum body panels IIRC, and overdrive 4-speeds (I think they had aluminum cases). I wouldn't call that a 'certain application' though, so maybe you're looking for something else.

That was it. The application was high fuel economy. That was a big issue back then. Considering imports were getting popular. They came with slant 6's ( 318 was a dealer option). Got over 20 mpg in the city and 35 mpg highway.

Good question! - When did Dodge build the "Rampage" pickup?

I think they resurrected the "Scamp" nameplate for the Plymouth, but I also think the Rampage came out a couple of years after 1981.

Rampage was around for quite a while. Scamp was only 1 season only.

There was a Shelby Rampage too.

True, but it was just an appearance package, it didn't have any suspension or engine mods.

Also, they were all built at the end of the Rampage production, in 1984.

Oh yeah. They were called California Shelby Rampages, only sold in CA 😉

hmm.. what would be the point in this thread? Anyone could find the answer on the net. but the question is.. who cares? 😛

The idea is you don't cheat by looking it up, just draw from your own resources. Call it an honor system.

Actually 1 car was made with the turbo2 engine. I have an article on it.
