I took my car into get my alternator replaced, plus some brake work last weekend. On the way, I stopped to fill the gas tank (gas gauge showed full). After I picked it up, I noticed the gas gauge is stuck below the pin that it rests on when the ignition is off. The dash is sealed, so I don't think there was a way for them to have been able to bump it unless they hit something while working on the brakes near the gas tank. This is a 1998 Chevy Malibu LS. Anyone have a suggestion for what I should try? I am somewhat mechanically capable so if you point me in the right direction I should be able to manage the fix, if it's reasonably easy, thanks.
