automating a process in Photoshop?

I was looking into actions in Photoshop, I take a bunch of pics and when I offload them on to my PC I'd like to have my name branded vertically on each image. I have Photoshop 7, I fiddled with settings, and I see how to automate everything from resizing images to mass saving. But what would be a decent way to go about this? With 200 images at a time I really don't want to edit each manually

Take a look at ImageReady and Droplets. I created an Action that does my standard manipulations to a photo, and saved it as a Droplet. Now I just drag & drop a folder full of pictures onto my Droplet's .exe, and ImageReady does the rest.
