Hey guys, total linux n00b here trying to get a script running.
First some background info:
Here's the deal. Every morning, really early, like 4AM or so, school boots EVERYONE off the internet and we have to log back in. Not a huge deal, except I run Folding@home and World Community Grid. A couple hours until I wake up isn't that bad, but I'm gone on every other weekend, so that is 2-3 days worth of lost production.
School uses Cisco Clean Access, which is a pain. However, it isn't linux compatible so school just has linux boxes log in using a web-based login screen. I was told that there is a way to make a script that runs and automatically logs in. Now I'm a total linux n00b but I was able to take my one cruncher box, install ubuntu, and get it online and even folding as well, with its work folder shared so my main PC which is running windows can monitor it. I feel like I accomplished an amazing feat 😛
This is the main part:
The part I'm having trouble with is figuring out exactly how to make a script that runs an auto-login on the university's webpage. I don't even know where to begin. I did grab the html coding from the page, I can post that if needed. I'm no good with html but it looks like it uses some javascript stuff.
Can anyone help me out here?
TIA
