Automatically backing up Android photos to the cloud

sygyzy

Lifer
Hi,

I'd like to automatically backup photos I take on my Galaxy Nexus to the cloud. I would prefer an application that had the following features:

1. Uploads to Picasa or Flickr so I don't have to sign up for another account.
2. Does not require me to install any PC software (ie Sugar Sync). If there's an app that can upload to Dropbox, that would be OK since I use it anyway.
3. Has options for scheduling such as "upload only on wifi" or "upload only on Sundays at 2AM."

I have Lookout running on my phone and it actually does 2 and 3 but it uploads to their own server, which I don't like. I don't really want another place for my photos to live.

What are you guys using?

P.S. I know I can sync with a cable but I feel much better if they get sync'd over automatically.

You probably don't have Google plus. My Galaxy Nexus (or any other phone that I imagine that has the Google+ app) can automatically upload your pics to the cloud.
My photos automatically appear on Google+ shortly after taking them.

Yes. Use the Google+ app to set how you want to automatically upload your pictures to Picasa (I set it to upload on wi-fi only). I don't think it has the capability to schedule uploads though. In my case it'll just wait until it connects through wi-fi and starts uploading the new pictures.

I do have Google+ but from what I saw, it can only automatically upload to Google+ and not Picasa.

Google+ albums and picasa web are the same thing (with a different UI).

If you upload using Google+ your pictures will show up in your Picasa web albums, they show up in the album [instant upload] as default. (if you use the same google log in)

this, they are the same

Admittedly, I knew about this auto upload feature of G+ but I was originally annoyed by it because it was turned on by default and I didn't want my pictures going to the cloud. Now that I do want that and see that the photos are kept private (unless I want to share them) and it has some features like the ability to upload only when on WiFi, I am going to go this route. It's actually exactly what I wanted.

Thanks for your help everyone.
