Is there some sort of device/setup that automatically squirts/sprays a cat when they cross some boundary (say, enforced by laser light or something)? I think the vet has mentioned it before, and I believe a co-worker as well, but I have no idea what it would be called.

Anyone know or have one themselves? I've just about had enough of my feline companion jumping up on my computer desk when I'm not around. I have a placemat on it right now, with a bunch of gorilla tape stuck on one side of it, but that's not proven sufficient to deter the key.

I saw something recently on imgur with a camera showing the kitchen counter tops. Can jumps up, some canned aerosol sprayed, cat tried it again and finally gave up because of the sprayer. No idea what the product was.

They have collar mounted devices that do that where you can put up virtual walls / geofencing and use a citronella spray (rather than electric shock) but I don't think anything exists that does what you want, although it'd be fairly simple to set up with an optical sensor and a little servo
