I have a lot of things on this intarweb thingy that I need to keep checking on periodically, like the web pages for various applications that don't have a built-in update detection feature, comics that update on an irregular schedule, things like that. Anyone know of a good service that will do this for me (free) and, even better, software that will run locally? I spend most of my time on MacOS X, so if it's not going to run on there or in Java it won't be very useful to me. Java would kick ass for my purposes, a CLI would work as well if it has any chance of running/compiling on the PPC architecture for a *BSD (though I do like usability, and while I'm comfortable at sh and csh you just can't beat a clickable button for easiness.) TIA. :)
