AutoGK Question

I'm trying to convert a 6 and 1/2 minute long uncompresed AVI file into a 10MB Divx file using AutoGK. When I tell ti to start however, it says "Analyzing Source" but nothing appears to be happening. Task manager reports, no CPU activity, and the mem usage for AutoGK has not budged for 10 mins. Is it acutally doing something?

I've installed AutoGK on a second computer, with the same file, only trying xVid codec, and same thing, it is just chilling at the Analyzing source stage. Am I doing something wrong?

Should also point out this is my first time with AutoGK. Still a virgin.

Well at the analyzing source stage, VirtualDubMod is supposed to start. It starts minimized but you should see it in the taskbar and you should see a percentage. It it's not starting then maybe you could go to the folder C:\Program Files\AutoGK\VDubMod and make sure VirtualDubmod.exe is there and that it runs. Other than that, I can't really think of what else to do besides reinstalling AutoGK.

Yep that was it. Virtual dub had a pop-under window to confirm something on the first run that I did not see beneath all my various windows open. Once I found that it is working like a charm. Though when encoding it speeds through the first part of the video which is just Black w/ white text. Almost like its speeding it up as part of the compression scheme. This throws the audio way off for the whole darned thing. oh well. One problem at a time I guess.

Thanks
