Autochk.exe error on welcome screen!

Hello,
I had uninstalled PerfectDisk 7. After uninstalling when I start my computer then I get this message (on welcome screen) just before appearing desktop ---
"\SystemRoot\Windows\System32\Autochk.exe program not found - skipping Autocheck"

When I reinstall Perfect disk then I don't see that error message. Whats the problem when I uninstall PerfectDisk?

After uninstalling PerfectDisk if I want to use diskeeper (boot time defrag / scan) then Diskeeper cant defrag my Computer.

Any solution?

Since this is Vista, the first thing is that a system app like that will need a Vista version. And since it is not written for Vista, its cleanup is not working.

After the uninstall, do not reboot. Instead, open the registry and search for "autochk". *Carefully* delete those keys that reference it. Once you have removed the offending entry, restart. I suspect that this key will be found in the services area in System.

Cool.

Same still applies and it will be in the CurrentControlSet in all liklihood. The uninstall is not working as it should.
