Do you lot not pay for roadside assistance? AAA or through your auto insurance company.

HAVING it is one thing. USING it OTOH is another! ;)

A flat tire isn't an "emergency" in my world at least.... the phonecall to get service = half the time it takes to change the dang tire myself even in bad conditions. (with semi-frozen fingers!)

Well none of my cars have spare wheels. They have that stupid inflation goo that I absolutely suspect wouldn't work at all for a lot of punctures. I'm definitely phoning the breakdown people.
That said I don't think that I've ever had a puncture that stopped me driving to a tire place.

They're a far rarer event then they used to be that's for sure.

This is mainly because tires in general (and sidewalls in particular!) are vastly stronger/more durable than they used to be.

It may also be because the roads where you live are JUST A SMIDGE better maintained then they are on the I-95 corridor in CT and the NYC/metro area!

I almost had Advance Auto do it for my dad's minivan recently, but decided I would be more competent in turning bolts and putting things back together 100%. Even if they did it though, I would've brought it and watched them.

BTW, that start/stop feature is super annoying and wasteful. They need to cut that shit out.
Try living with stop/start when it’s 110+ F.

I think it's the garbage (cheap) way many manufacturers implemented it. I have it in my Camry and it's incredibly smooth. Occasionally I can feel the engine kick back on but 98% it's unnoticeable by me or my passengers
I was primarily referring to models available in the US but I have to give them a slight apology. I have an Opel rental car atm and it's implementation is hot garbage. Turns off before you come to a stop so if you're in heavy traffic you have two speed options: Medium and Coast. No slow. If you want to try and go Slow from Coast it Jack rabbits you forward when it starts the engine. I've rented a lot of cars and this is the worst I've ever seen
