auto shutoff device

I was thinkng wouldn't it be possible to trigger a switch to shutoff a computer by monitoring the resistance over a thermoresistor. The idea for this is that if a peltier died than the computer would be swiftly shutdown. If anyone can come up with a design for this please msg me.
