Auto Reboots at XP Log In Screen!

My other computer, which is a E-Machines AMD 2400+ 256mb 60gb with Windows XP Home, auto reboots when the Windows XP gets to the log in screen, just keeps rebooting at the same spot over and over and over. Not sure why, took it outside and cleaned it, reformatted it, worked for a while, but 2 days later, same reboot cycle over again. Could it possibly be powersupply? Could any power supply work? Thinking about putting a cheap Allied 300 watt in. Thanks in advance.

If you can manage to get into the machine before it reboots (maybe safe mode?), click the following:

1.) My computer->Properties->Advanced
2.) Click on the button near "Startup and Recovery" (note: I'm on a Win2k machine ATM so it may be labeled differently, but it's similar)
3.) Uncheck the box that says "Automatically reboot"

Now, reboot the machine as normal and the next time it happens, it will give you an actual Blue Screen of Death. Usually a Stop: *something* error. Insert the error code that says something like 0xc000001 (yours will probably be different) at http://support.microsoft.com and see what they come up with. I'm suspecting memory failure.

heh..this usually happens to me when my computer gets overheated, so i underclock it a bit and that usually does the trick...

but i doubt the emachines bios will let u do that.
