I have an embedded mini-ITX device that has no power button. Instead, it uses a little dongle on the front panel pin header to always power on the unit. As you know, if the "power sw" pins are shorted, the computer turns on. However, if they stay shorted, power gets cut due to hard power off. Ostensibly, this little device solves that problem. However, it appears to be dead since a few days ago. I had to wire a switch to be able to turn my box on. It's pretty ghetto, and I want this working as it did out of the box, because this is for a customer.
For the life of me, I can not find a replacement. Or even a mention of this little dongle anywhere on the Web.

Any pointers?

What is the mini itx device?

Perhaps it's in the parts list for it?

Have you checked to see if there's a BIOS option to boot the computer any time power is received? Then you could skip the power pins entirely.
