auto parse url feature does not seem to work.

are you using the WYSIWYG editor? are you unchecking the box to auto parse URL's by accident?

I don't think I'm using the WYSIWYG editor, I'm just using the norma "reply" function. And I've got the "Auto parse URLs" checked. Oh well, doesn't really matter I guess.

Another quick test.

Heh, it's the wysiwyg editor, that's how I made this most the first time. You can disable it in your personal options.

On a side note, the wysiwyg editor crashed IE when I posted, even though it sent the data.

Then IE crashed itself, as the WYSIWYG editor was made by Microsoft and is built into IE, all these "editors" are is the javascript to invoke them and set options. So that is an IE bug.

How is ActiveEdit made by Microsoft and built into IE? (Not even sure if it's activeedit or activedit, it's different in various places.) It may use ActiveX and Java and Javascript but that doesn't mean it's built into the browser. By that logic, every program crash can be blamed on your CPU since every program uses instructions built into that.

It did only crash once though, but I only used it once more to post then went back to the regular way.

What about the auto-parsing issue? Will it not work with the wysiwyg editor at all?

No, it doesn't work if you're using the wysiwyg editor. Apparently since the wysiwyg editor is being used to generate all the forum code after you type it, rather than displaying the code, the auto-parser doesn't activate when the post is sent to the server.
