Auto loan from LendingTree

I want to see what kind of rates I can get on LendingTree. But they want my complete information including the purchase price of the vehicle before they show anything. I don't want a request about credit history to show up, plus I don't even know what the final sale price of a vehicle will be.

This is confusing. I want to get preapproval first, but they want a done deal from dealer in order to show me loan choices.

Ugh. Has anyone done it before?

Thanks.

LendingTree is bullsh!t. If you want to get offers THEY WILL HAVE TO RUN YOUR CREDIT. That's a fact you are going to have to deal with whether you use lending tree, or get it done at the dealer.

Yeah, I have a credit union option lined up, but I thought maybe I could get a better deal from LendingTree. Apparently, not.

On second glance, 3.75% is available but only for 36 mnths. Doing that can strain the budget a little. I'd rather do 48mnths, but that's 5.25%. We are putting almost 30% down.
