Auto Insurance

We signed up with this auto insurance company a few months ago. And yesterday, my dad called the company for a change he wanted to make in the service (something that would lower the cost/month).

But for some reason, the guy ends up re-calculating the whole contract and tells my dad that he would have to pay $100 more. So my dad asks why? and goes over the whole plan with the insurance guy only to find out that we were supposedly paying for services which we weren't even signed up for (even though my dad wrote down all the things that we were signing up for initially).

So my dad gets pissed off and tells them that he would go down there to meet with their manager or boss or whatever. And the guy says that they have no office and that they only do business on the phone??

Do you guys think this guy's running a scam? Should we switch to some other company? I don't wanna get into an accident only to find out that no insurance company exists by the name of "xxxx".

my friend and i have Wawanesa. He had his car stolen about 2 years ago and then the police found it burnt somewhere about 100 miles away. They wrote him a check for the car in about a week.
