Auto Insurance Question

Dedpuhl

Lifer
I just got my renewal notice for my insurance. It's rather high at $1282. I have one not-at-fault accident (over 3 years ago), no other claims, tickets, etc. My policy runs from April 6 to October 6. In June, I will turn 25.

My question is this: Will I get some kind of break when I turn 25? I was under the impression that once you hit that age, the rates take a nosedive. Will I have to wait until October for my rates to go down? Anyone else have their 25th b-day fall in the middle of the plan? How does it work?

I heard its after 25, married, and no claims or points on record ever. It also depends on the car too and coverage type.

I can tell you that my rates were stupid until I got married, then dropped massively (I was 21 btw). After my divorce they went back up, but not as far (I was 26). Now I'm going on 31 and pay about $400 every 6 months for my 99cavalier. One accident on my record (not me driving though). During all of that my rate never changed during a policy period, always during renewal.
