Auto Insert Notification not working

Okay, my dad has a POS HP computer with a mitsumi CD-RW drive. All of a sudden the Auto Insert Notification (AIN) stops working. The drive works fine other than this. I had him check the properties in device manager and AIN is checked. I had him uncheck it, reboot, re-check it, reboot. Didn't work. I had him remove the drive from device manager and let winblows reinstall it. Didn't work.

Any suggestions?
