How do I enable "auto insert notification" for optical drives in Win XP? I just recently re-installed XP after a mobo upgrade and the auto insert feature does not work.
Edit: I checked the registry key and autorun is set to 1 which should be enabled, but it still doesn't work. There's another entry right under that one called "AutoRunAlwaysDisable". It doesn't have a data value to change though.
Fixed: In case anyone else comes across this, here's how I fixed it: Go here. Then I used the "Additional Information". The keys were set to 91 instead of 95. Don't know how or why it happened, but putting it back to 95 then rebooting corrected the problem.
