My car battery keep losing its charge after 3 days of unuse, and I think it is because the ignition switch is sticking in the on position due to wear.

How much would it cost to replace or fix a Ford Taurus ignition switch & how easy is it.

Thanks

You can probably find the replacement part at some junk yard, which would save you a bundle compared to getting it new...

As for how much and how easy, I really have no idea.... But ppl at the junk yard should be able to tell you when you go and get the part...

It's kind of a pain in the @ss to replace an ignition switch. You have to disassemble the steering column.
Are you positive that's what's causing the drain?

I'll give the local junk yard a try, but I didn't know that you could replace the tumbler with another tumbler that easily.

It think it is the ignition switch that is the culprit, because the starter seemed to be runing smoothly & no break any where on the wire. The battery is about 1 year old & fluid is at the correct level.
