Auto email?

I was asked to figure this out, but I do not think it is possible with what I have.
Here it is:
Pres. of company wants to come up with an Xcell spread sheet that is to be kept on the server, filled out by a specified # of individuals each week (kind of like having some properties checked off, ie completed etc). Here is the kicker, they want it automatically emailed to the recipients, then have the file forwarded and updated back to it's original location on the server. I am running NT 4 with a VERY old and basic Whistleware/IBM Interjet mail server. I tell them that I do not think this is possible (certainly not with what I have to work with).
Someone tell me, is this even romotely possible at all? If it is, where do I begin?
Thanks.

Possibly a VB (or langauge of choice) program that would do all that and go through your SMTP mail server.

Maybe some of the experts on here can be more specific. Sounds interesting, though.

Might not do exactly what you want it to do, but you can set up a routing list on the excel file that will automatically pass the file around from user to user after they complete their changes.
