Authorities Find 610 Pounds Of Marijuana In Caskets

"May I search your car?"

"No."

"Why are you nervous?"

"Because cops make me nervous."

"Okay, here's your ticket."

Being nervous isn't probable cause.

Then the cop would just impound the car to search at his leisure.

yeah no joke.

bradruth:

How would someone tell you they didn't want their car searched... and you actually not make a big fscking deal until it GOT searched one way or another?

Oh.. wait...

I think that there aren't any. I think when the situation goes:

"Is there anything in the car you need to tell me about?"

"no"

then the loaded question.. "Well then, is it okay if I search your car?"

"well.. no not really.. I haven't done anything and shouldn't have to have my car searched"

I don't see much getting out of that one.

I don't do drugs, I don't do anything illegal while in my car, other than speed, and find it ridiculous that I have NO CHOICE but to have my car searched. I can either have it searched while I'm pulled over, or after a warrant is obtained and it happens in some fscking police yard.

Either way, 97% of cops are power tripping assholes. There is 3% of an exception.. however I've yet to meet one.

Maybe less than3%, I Know I have met at least a hundred and 2 of those seemed to be pretty good cops, the rest were power tripping assholes! 🙂

You always do have a choice when there's no PC.

Oh, and I'd like to check a couple of your figures. How many cops do you know personally? And of that number, how many do you know well?

I dated a girl who's mom only dated cops. that poor women was beaten so often it was ridiculous. On top of that, none of her b/f's ever got arrested. I'm talking across 6 different guys and 2 (maybe 3?) police dept's. I've gotten pulled over probably 30 times. One time the cop was nice to me, ONCE. this was in a small town in Tennessee.

I met quite a few officers while I was employed by a law enforcement agency. The majority of them are reasonable and decent people. Sure, there are a few pricks as with any profession.

Personally? two. they live in my apt complex and are both total fscking pricks. I know one well, and while we get along, he is an asshole. Borrows my tools and won't return them, etc. Just a general jerk-off. He lies, and the cops are at his apt about once every 2 or 3 months.

edit:
and see above post.

Also, I shouldn't have to get to know someone to know they aren't an asshole. there's no reason for someone to pull me over, see I'm in my early 20's, and ASSUME I am doing something wrong, and get treated that way right up until they can't give me a ticket for anything, then tell me to "get on my way in a hurry, I don't want to see you here again, etc." without an apology.

I think your figures are backwards. You have to realize these guys deal with assholes all day, and after a day like that, do you really expect them to be in a good mood? I work with cops as an EMT, and most of the ones at my station are hilarious and awesome (there is one ass who ticketed me in the station parking lot for not wearing my seat belt [I was moving my car] but we won't go into detail on him). They're normal people, with stressful jobs.

Why do they turn into assholes on the job then?

bradruth; you tell me.. As someone else said on this board.. stereotypes don't occur in total vacuums. Why do so many people feel like almost all cops are total pricks? There IS some basis behind it.

If someone can't handle the job, then they should find another profession. I know people in the military, coming back from iraq and whatnot and they aren't breaking down over a 'difficult day at work'

I think it's a power thing. People become cops because they like the power. It's certainly not for the money... and the 3% that are good do it because it's a 'good samaritan' thing... the other 97%... assholes.

Because you're more likely to remember a bad incident than a incident where you were treated normally.

My few encounters with police outside my old job have been at least civil. Each time I have been stopped I was knowingly violating a law or two, so I can't exactly blame them.
