He died in June but I just heard about it. He left $20mm to a college and $10mm to a hospital. Guess the suckiness of his later books didn't hurt his wallet too much.
The Belgariad was the first fantasy series I remember reading so it'll always hold that special place, despite it also being the pinnacle of his career from which everything else ran a distant second. Thanks for the memories Dave.
