So i'm trying to plan a trip to Australia later this year for about 2 weeks. I know this isn't enough time to see everything I want but i was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions.....

I would like to focus on seeing wildlife, ocean, doing adventure stuff, etc.....

anyone been or live there have any input on where I should spend my time?

EDIT:
So I've kind of narrowed down what I think I would like to do...

1. Arrive at Sydney
4-5 days in this area, would like to rent a car and visit the Jenolan Caves to do some cave hiking and see the Blue Mountains...

2. Fly to Cairns, maybe stay here one night and then rent a car to drive to Port Douglas.
From PD I would like to do some diving at the GBR and drive to Daintree and maybe Cape Tribulation?
5 Days in this area

3. Fly back to Sydney then home

Does this sound pretty good? Anythings you guys recommend in the areas I'm going? And any advice regarding what kind of weather I can expect?

Oh yeah.

Do NOT bring any fresh food into the country. If you do, declare it.

yea they have a border security reality show..u can find it on the internets:)
its just amusing to see people get pwned for drug smuggling or bringing in stupid sh*t.

I went in Feb. I loved Melbourne. We did the Great Ocean Road tour and it was amazing, highly recommended. Gold coast had great beaches and tons of beautiful people, but was extreamly touristy.

I went there for 3 weeks with my dad while he was at a conference, and that was barely enough time to see Sydney, Cairns, and Townsend.

We mostly did Airs (sp?) Rock, The barrier reef, and then misc. stuff in Sydney.

If you want to see the whole country, you need several trips, or a REALLY long trip. That's like someone trying to see the USA in one short trip. I've been here 26 years, and haven't seen the whole country.

My wife and I are gonna go back to Australia for a couple weeks next year, and we plan to see mostly Sydney, Great Barrier Reef, and New Zealand.

I agree, thats why I'm just trying to focus on Sydney and Cairns.... even then i'm worried about packing in too much.... how was Ayers Rock?

I did the east coast two years ago in about two weeks. Was fun. I actually just landed in Sydney a few days ago and am heading towards melborne tomorrow.

Sydney sucks, its just another big city. Feels like Toronto/Vancouver. But you're p,rob ably flying here anyway and if your heading to the blue mountains then yeah. But otherwise don't spend too much time here. Fly to Cairns and drive down the coast back to Sydney? The whole coast is very touristy and you won't see much of "real" Australia. Come with me into the outback for that! ;)
