You could always make it down to 6th street and find yourself in a drunken stupor...

Mount Bonell *sp* great view.
Several nice golf courses
Chuy's (great mexican food)
town lake

hey convex, if you're into the "gentleman's" scene... I've enjoyed Sugar's near highland mall. Look for the hot asian chick, she gives heavenly lap dances.

Dude, my roomate's leaving tomorrow to go to Austin to visit his gf @ UT! They have a whole weekend of crap planned. I wish I could remember what they're doing so I could give some suggestions.

I do second Town Lake though, for tubing. Also Barton Springs for swimming...maybe a little cold for those though! :)

Have fun, Austin's a wonderful city!

It was raining when I woke up, and its raining right now, and its supposed to keep raining heavily all weekend. So much for any plans I had this weekend. Guess Ill stay inside and do nothing again.....although...there are some good movies coming out this weekend (or at least I hope they will be good).

6th Street is the place to go if the rain let's up.

Depending upon your budget, you may want to check out Gilligans for some great seafood. It's downtown also.

Good, inexpensive Mexican food can be had at El Patio on Guadalupe. They've been around since 1954. Very close to UT.

We haven't had this much rain in a while.

As far as work goes, Dell hires tech support quite often. Applied Materials may put some more people on in clean room assembly, but right now they are looking for engineers. And of course AMD Fab 25, IBM-Braker and Motorola. Samsung also has a semi-conductor facility, and they hire from time to time. The list of high tech places goes on and on.

Swank place to work... What are you looking for?

Sugar's you say. Hmm. I am flying over there next weekend for an onsite. :)
I wonder where that goes on the expense report.
