Aureal Vortex2 Win2K Drivers??

Where can i get some Win2K drivers for my aureal card, using a good old Bx board, i here the beta drivers work fine with it, is that true? the default drivers MS installs are crap & keep crackling.

anyways i cant find anywhere to download
aureal's site is down of course & soundofvortex has been down for last little while

Can someone point me to a link to download these things?

i'm using htem right now - the beta 2559 version from vortexofsound...u must install the WDM and component drivers...i've been using win2k for an entire 2 days now...here are teh issues i'm having...

1) counter-strike a3d doesn't seem to be stable...first, u have to delete teh a3dapi.dll from the half-life directory so it uses the default one, otherwise it won't even initialize a3d...when the game runs, it'll eventually crash the system...secondary sound buffer works fine.

2) in powerdvd 2.55 i've noticed some crackling that i never had in win98SE...though i think that the standard win2k driver provided by MS don't have this issue...not totally sure however...

otherwise everything else seems perfectly fine...wav, mp3, etc. all play perfectly..i have a feeling it's the audio codec used by powerdvd for mpeg2 that might be causing the rpoblem w/ dvds.....

Yes i got MP3 playback, wav, ect working fine.

But in WinDVD2000 i get crackling, i was thinking perhaps its WinDVD??
Anyone with a SBLive have problems with WinDVD2000? in Win2K

this "crackling" seems to be a problem. I don't have that problem, my friend did (using optical out to do DTS to his system). We both had 2559 version. It was perfect in winMe.

unfortunately, drivers will never be good unless creative decideds to help out the a3d cause.....

but until then, i have my eye on the new herc card w/ the external box, it's exactly what i'm lookin for (game theater XP).
