aureal vortex2 in win2k

I have an aureal vortex 2 SQ2500 sound card and i have the win2k drivers installed but in the tab where you select what speakers you have if quad or satellite when i select quad since i have quad speakers the test tab becomes grayed out and all the options under it are grayed out too. Is it a problem with win2k or is a problem with the sound card? Aureal says the card is fully compatible in win2k so i should not have that. Any ideas on whats wrong?
