This would be a great deal if this was the Vortex2 SuperQuad SQ2500. Alas, the card in this hot deal is based on the original Vortex chipset. Please don't think that I'm thread-crapping by the way, for I am a true Defender of the Vortex Faith. I own 5 Vortex2-based cards (and only 1 Soundblaster Live! card). A much better card is the Aureal Vortex2 SuperQuad at West-Tech for $16+shipping (total of around $23 dollars). This IS several dollars more than your deal, though.

Does this mean the card only supports 2 speakers in win2k?


And how about the 2500 with win2k?

I have the Diamond MX300 card with great speakers. These cards rock. Good luck. I think that AUREAL went out of business and they are not creating new drivers for their products and that is why they are dropping in price. Good luck.

stealin MisterE's links, check out this page breaks down all the vortex 2 cards. I had the Quadzilla for a week, but it couldn't do any thing good in (win 2000 ) at least back then.

I might get some of those $16 cards tho.... saw them last time this topic came up, but was too cheap to pay $7 to ship, esp when the stores are to close, but the stores dont have the same price as online.
