Aureal sq2500 vs superquad digital PCI

THEY ARE NOT THE SAME!
some guy screwed me over when he sold me his "sq2500,"
i took it up my rear after I recieved it and don't want to fight with him. then I wanna sell it afterwards, and realized my buyer thought its a SQ2500...

Isn't the SuperQuad Digital PCI the vortex 1 chip?
There is a SuperQuad 1500 and 2500 as well...I know the 2500 is Vortex 2, one of the others is Vortex 1...

doesn't the sq in sq2500 stand for superquad? AFAIK, the superquad is the sq2500, the oem ones have digital out, either toslink or the coaxial.

The SQ2500 and Superquad are almost identical, expect for the type of digital out. Performance wise they are almost the same, both using the Vortex 2 chipset, with the SQ2500 having a different revision. I have the superquad and it works great, I wouldn't worry about which card you have, they are basicly the same, with the superquad being intended for OEM, and the SQ2500 for retail sales.

Just got one today. Blue PCB, plus it has a sticker that says "SQ2500". Would have been nice to get the CD though.

That is correct.

the "Super Quad Digital PCI" is the OEM with the toslink digital output

the "SQ2500" is the retail on a blue board with a slightly revised chip and rca output


those are the official names of each.

Could someone tell me which speaker systems support the digital out on the superqaud? I was thinking about getting a set of either Soundworks FPS2000's or some Altec Lansing ACS56's could someone tell me if either supports the digital out on my SQ2500?
