Aureal SQ2500 and DTT2500 Speakers won't play nicely!

Hey, do any of you know how to get the afofementioned setup working? I've also got a Hollywood+ DVD Decoder. The decoder has the line out going into the sound card already.

I have the receiver plugged into the Vortex2's SPDIF port, and yet nothing is happening (I just hear a bunch of snap, crackles, and pops...). The speakers are plugged in fine to the receiver as the test works great. So, how do I properly setup the SPDIF connector to work with these speakers??? I'm running WinME and Win2K, but I doubt that's gonna matter.

You need Win98 to make it work.ME and 2K use WDM drivers and those are very beta.
Aureal is gone as you probably know and its assets have been recently bought by Creative.

Before that team of engineers hired as subcontractors were working on WDM drivers.
They had a decent build but now its up to Creative to release it.
