Aureal 8810 Crashing games

I bought the Aureal Vortex advantage PCI 8810 and its good for playing music but when i play games the games lock up everytime about 10-15 minutes into play. I'm using windows xp and I have a ECS K7S5A. I read various fixes and things but I don't see anything for my problem. Any insight is appreciated. thanks
 
Seems like a smiliar problem when I had my MX300 with a KX133 VIA chipset. My first idea would be drivers, try to get a update on them if you haven't checked yet.
 
I know that there are new drivers, but many other aureal forums have said not to get them because microsoft just took most of the features out because the bugs were too much of a hassle.i dont wanna do that.I'm really hoping that there is something else to do.
 
Have a similar problem w/CL sound card. What I needed to do was go into the advanced settings and set the hardware acceleration to none. Sucks, but games will now play w/o locking up on me.
 
Putting the hardware acceleration on none made everything work. too bad the a3d thing doesnt work on that setting. if anyone knows another solution please post it.thanks
